{"id":9005,"date":"2026-07-08T12:11:16","date_gmt":"2026-07-08T10:11:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.connectpartners.ch\/?post_type=jobpost&#038;p=9005"},"modified":"2026-07-08T12:11:16","modified_gmt":"2026-07-08T10:11:16","slug":"financial-controller","status":"publish","type":"jobpost","link":"https:\/\/www.connectpartners.ch\/en\/jobs\/financial-controller\/","title":{"rendered":"Financial Controller"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are seeking a dynamic and business-oriented Financial Controller to join an international finance team.<\/p>\n<p>This role is much more than traditional financial control: the successful candidate will act as a trusted business partner, supporting operational teams, improving financial processes, and ensuring the company has accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Financial Reporting &amp; Control<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.<\/li>\n<li>Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the integrity of accounting records.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor financial performance and analyze variances against budgets and forecasts.<\/li>\n<li>Support month-end and year-end closing activities.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and applicable accounting standards.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in statutory audits and coordinate with external auditors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Business Partnering<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work closely with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics and Management teams.<\/li>\n<li>Provide financial analysis to support commercial and operational decisions.<\/li>\n<li>Translate financial information into practical business recommendations.<\/li>\n<li>Support managers in understanding financial impacts of operational decisions.<\/li>\n<li>Promote collaboration across departments by acting as a solution provider rather than merely identifying issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Process Improvement<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Continuously identify opportunities to simplify and improve internal processes.<\/li>\n<li>Lead automation initiatives, particularly through advanced Excel and ERP tools.<\/li>\n<li>Develop dashboards, KPIs and reporting tools to improve business visibility.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in ERP implementation and continuous improvement projects.<\/li>\n<li>Standardize financial procedures and promote best practices throughout the organization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Budgeting &amp; Forecasting<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor departmental spending and provide recommendations for cost optimization.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare profitability analyses and financial models for new business opportunities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Internal Controls &amp; Compliance<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain effective internal control procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with company policies and financial procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Identify operational risks and recommend pragmatic corrective actions.<\/li>\n<li>Support continuous improvement of governance processes.<\/li>\n<li>Perform portfolio analysis by identifying costs and recommending improvements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Profile:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Education<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s or Master&#8217;s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration.<\/li>\n<li>Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) is considered an advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>5-10 years of progressive experience in financial controlling or corporate finance.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in an international manufacturing, pharmaceutical or industrial environment is preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with ERP systems, preferably <strong>Microsoft Business Central. (<\/strong>SAP, Oracle or equivalent).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Technical Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent command of Microsoft Excel, including:\n<ul>\n<li>Advanced formulas<\/li>\n<li>Pivot Tables<\/li>\n<li>Power Query<\/li>\n<li>Financial modelling<\/li>\n<li>Dashboard creation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Strong ERP knowledge.<\/li>\n<li>High level of financial analysis capability.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent reporting and presentation skills.<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable working with large datasets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Personal Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.<\/li>\n<li>A proactive, positive and solution-oriented mindset.<\/li>\n<li>Curiosity and a continuous improvement mentality.<\/li>\n<li>The ability to build trust across all departments.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organizational and time-management skills.<\/li>\n<li>High level of integrity and confidentiality.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.<\/li>\n<li>Adaptability and resilience.<\/li>\n<li>Strong ownership and accountability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Most importantly, the Financial Controller should <strong>not<\/strong> be perceived as a &#8220;finance police officer.&#8221; Instead, they should act as a collaborative business partner who helps colleagues succeed by providing practical solutions, simplifying processes, and enabling better decision-making while maintaining appropriate financial controls.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Languages<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fluent French and English (written and spoken) is mandatory.<\/li>\n<li>Additional languages such as German, Spanish or Italian are considered an asset.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Travel<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Willingness to travel internationally approximately 20\u201330% of the time.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to visit subsidiaries, suppliers, customers or logistics partners as business needs require.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Due to the volume of applications we receive, we regret that we will contact only the candidates who have been selected for an interview.
