For one of our clients, Owner of numerous private properties all around the world and in Switzerland, we have been mandated to recruit an independant and multipurpose Property Steward – Housekeeper.

This is a permanent role based in Gstaad and the successful applicant must be settled for several years in Gstaad village/Saanen and surrounding area.


Main responsibilities:

You will be responsible for the general cleanliness of the entire property at all times throughout the year:

  • Liaise and negotiate with contractors for interior works and maintenance needs
  • When the property is in use by the principal, support the house team with service, cleaning, provisioning, delivery and pick up of the dry cleaning, orders
  • Arrange events/hospitality when required
  • Be in charge of meal service for the principals on some occasions
  • Receive parcels/mail, log it in the logbook and dispatch it
  • Manage pool system, its cleanliness and the water quality by sending samples to the laboratory
  • Stock and manage items in fridges and dry goods storage as well as liquor and wine inventory in liaison with the Residence manager
  • Prepare and participate with the logistics of events
  • Managing multiple inventories
  • Be available when requested by the head of security to drive/pick up family members
  • Maintain network with local agents, essential providers in the region and important places of interest (hotels, restaurants, shops and additional cultural activities). Create a strong network of people in these fields
  • Ensure the sport equipment is up to standard: skis, snow shoes, ice hockey equipment, tennis rackets and balls, bicycles, bikes…
  • Supervise general maintenance and cleanliness of office building in the village
  • A couple of weeks per year will be dedicated to supporting the house staff in other Swiss residences
  • Seasonal related upkeep of the exterior grounds including :
    • Snow clearance in the winter months
    • Lawn, trees, lake upkeep in the summer
  • Yearly drainage of the lake followed by a thorough clean
  • Clear/cleaning & setting up all terraces when weather allows
  • Make sure the heating system is operational
  • Clear snow from all parking areas on the property
  • Make sure all pathways and car access are free of snow and safe
  • Ensure all vehicles are clean, tanks filled, and the yearly technical maintenances done
  • Handy skills put to practice (fixing, building, repairing…)
  • Oversee seasonal refurbishment, building or maintenance projects



  • Several years in Luxurious Hotel Industry (5* or 4*), preferably in Gstaad surroundings being in contact with VIP’s
  • Any experience relating to accomodation/hôtel Concierge/housekeeping experience is a must have
  • Very good physical condition is a must have
  • Hands-on, proactive, well-organised and paying attention to details
  • Strong ability to handle and fix simple issues on his own and liaise with external providers when required
  • Discrete, effective and detail oriented
  • Driving licence is required
  • Personal and professional network in Gstaad village
  • Full availability, and highly flexible with excellent communication skills in English, in Swiss German/German and in French (B2 level)
  • In order to deliver high-level of quality service, local residency in Gstaad or surroundings is mandatory
